Worky Work Work
I’ve been working over break so far, and it’s been good! I’m glad to be gettin’ paid, I really need the money (I’m pretty much broke for another two weeks). I really like having this job, it pays well, and I know it’ll be useful to be able to put that I work for the government on my future applications. It’s also what inspired me to add a minor in...

An Object of Beauty
I recieved this wonderful little book from my Mom for Christmas and I had my doubts about it at first. I’ve never read any of Steve Martin’s other books, and I honestly had no idea he was a writer or that he even had an interest in art.
As a visual person, I tend to notice the jacket design and overall design of the book’s appearance first. I love the book jacket, the lettering...

To Grandmother's house we go!
Today my Dad’s side of the family got together for their Christmas celebration. Normally when the Frys get together it’s quite crazy since there are so many of us. But since there was snow in the forecast, there were not as many people at Grandma’s as normal. I love her house, it’s so interesting seeing the mix of cultures in it. I also have so many memories from when I was...

Christmas Cookies
Well, the work week is finally over. So glad to have tomorrow and Friday off! This evening my sister’s boyfriend came over and we all made some sugar cookies and iced them with some very lemony royal icing and put sprinkles and all that good sugary stuff on them. The idea was to have red, white and green icing, but it turned out to be pink, lime green, and white icing.
Looking forward to...

Just a tiny rant...
In the mornings I like to read the news on CNN.com, and I generally enjoy it quite a bit. Catching up on current events, stuff like that. But recently with all the Wikileaks stuff it’s very frustrating. I don’t like that I have to constantly be worried about accidentally coming across Wikileaks content while I’m perusing the news. Seriously guys? Why don’t we just leave...
Day 4: Write about your closest friends...
I really don’t know if I have a lot of “close” friends, but I know so many amazing people-
Renee: I’ve known her since high school, and she is so wonderful. She’s always so much fun and she always seems to be smiling and radiant. Someone I can count on, and I always end up coming out feeling better about everything when I hang out with her.
Stephen- Totally awesome...

Stick a Fork in It.
Browsing CNN.com this morning, I came across this little jewel of an article written by Roland S. Martin. Martin opens the article with a brilliantly worded paragraph, I love that he is not afraid to be ridiculously blunt, and it’s hilarious. Apparently Sarah Palin has taken a stab at Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative, saying that the government shouldn’t...

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Yesterday I picked up a copy of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and I could not wait to crack it open and read it today at work. I’ve seen the Swedish film version of this book Man Som Hatar Kvinnor, directed by Niels Arden Oplev and starring Michael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace. Since I had seen the movie first, I kind of went into reading this book a bit differently than I normally would. I...

Day 3: My Favorite Television Show...
I have a few, but right now I am in love with Bones. I’ve always liked the crime shows like NCIS, all the CSIs, JAG, but I think my favorite is Bones, it’s really interesting how they have combined the FBI and a Smithsonian-like agency. Booth and Bones’ partnership is really dynamic, and the supporting cast is superb.
